When we sat down to write a mission statement, we knew that we would be creating something different. Our shop aims to attack the problem of cyclical homelessness in the most practical and realistic way we could think of – by providing job opportunities, one-on-one mentorship, and individualized training.
We have been in the screen printing and graphic design business since 2012, and we have worked with Denver’s homeless and at-risk youth for over eleven years.
Sox Place Screen Printing was created with the mission to provide homeless and at-risk youth with the means they need to exit life on the streets. We equip them with the tools they need to become self-sufficient and marketable in the real-world job market.
We have a vision to make a very real dent in the number of homeless youth that currently call the streets of Denver their home. We hope to one day be able to fully fund our youth drop-in center, while also creating more sustainable jobs for Denver’s homeless youth.
Benten runs and operates Sox Place Screen Printing. He is also a freelance designer and loves to ride his bike in his spare time.
Mike was kicked out onto the streets by his alcoholic mother when he was nine years old. Since then, Mike has found employment and now lives off the streets. Mike works part-time as an intern at Sox Place Screen Printing.
Daniel (also known on the streets as “Jinx”) is currently living on the streets, but he is working towards becoming self-sufficient as he works here at Sox Place Screen Printing.
